The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth through increasing sales of Wood Group Pratt & Whitney’s gas turbine services. In this role, your responsibilities will include sustaining existing customer relationships, acquiring new clients, and stimulating product demand.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, create, and build close working relationships with all key personnel at customer accounts while gaining a comprehensive understanding of their strategies and needs.
  • Develop and define WGPW’s current customer base.
  • Provide technical assistance to assigned accounts concerning equipment and repairs.
  • Ensure WGPW’s services have favorable consideration in all projects at assigned accounts.
  • Understand the impact of national and regional market drivers and the competitiveness of WGPW services.
  • Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Participate in and support the business by attending trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities.
  • Support contract negotiations with timely document edits, internal reviews, and approvals.
  • Identify potential project issues early and anticipate competitor moves.
  • Collaborate with leadership in the forecasting and budgeting process.
  • Be accountable for orders, sales, pricing/profitability, risk assessment, terms & conditions, and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate effective cost management and the ability to operate within assigned budget and budget control.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically at least 50% of the time and commute to the office when not travelling.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen with customer-centric mindset.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding business networks and proficiency in utilizing networking tools and platforms.

Experience

  • Extensive power generation and propulsion services/repairs knowledge with a minimum of 10 years related work experience.

Education Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical discipline is required.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to type, and handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 30 lbs. The employee may occasionally work in high places or be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, solvents, and oils. Work environment will vary due to travel.
