We are currently recruiting for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to be based in client offices in Aberdeen, UK.
The position is to deliver technical sassistance resulting in a reliable and safe operation of Equipment on a major client contract, including the identification of client improvement opportunities. The Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer constantly reviews and counters equipment vulnerabilities. The role is to drive system availability, reliability and provide technical leadership within the maintenance team.

Job Responsibilities

  • To comply with EELT and client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures always ensuring that all accidents/incidents/near misses/hazards are immediately reported, and relevant paperwork is completed.
  • Generate and embed a culture within the team of proactively eliminating technical risks that affect availability.
  • Frequent reviews of operational data and trends highlighting any technical risks or performance concerns as well as offering proactive mitigation measures.
  • Provide Technical oversight and ownership of RCA’s and failure investigations in accordance with Customer procedures and techniques
  • Act as Technical sign off to EthosEnergy procedures and workpacks.
  • To provide an improvement focus for all rotating equipment service or shutdown scopes ensuring that lessons learned are shared and implemented.
  • Provide input to all safety or operational risk assessments that involve any deviations to standard equipment operating procedures.
  • Review management of change requests from initiation through to close out in accordance with SE procedures.
  • Act as a technical focal point for onsite maintenance and commissioning activities to ensure technical compliance against an approved quality control plan.
  • Provision of technical and fault-finding front-line support for all rotating equipment issues, including definition of required front line spares holding.
  • Act as a technical focal point responsible for ensuring quality control of equipment strip downs, repairs, rebuilds and factory acceptance tests.
  • To identify areas of equipment obsolescence which are no longer supportable and propose alternative solutions.
  • Manage Service Bulletins provided by customers key subcontractors and report on Service Bulletin compliance.
  • Ongoing update of documentation as maintenance activities progress, logging documentation for any new equipment, modifications, or upgrades.
  • Maintain current, up-to-date records on critical limited life parts currently in the units, including each part’s age, hours to date, starts to date, refurbishment history, and expected remaining life.
  • Update availability metrics for unplanned events including details of the event logs to satisfy contract Key Performance Indicators.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Excellent working knowledge of legislation, guidance, and regulations applicable to rotating equipment
  • Champion personal Safety, and extensive experience in effective planning and work execution
  • Decision making ability

Experience

  • Extensive experience in oil and gas, power, or process industry experience in the rotating equipment areas of gas turbines, compressors, and their associated packages.
  • Experience working with CMMS / ERP databases and operational risk assessment tools thorough SGT 200 knowledge and awareness

Education Requirements

  • Qualified to degree level in Engineering, preferably Chartered with a recognised institution

Physical Requirements

  • Due to contract requirements, candidate must be based in Aberdeen, Scotland with proof of the right to work in the UK.
