We are currently recruiting a Procurement Specialist to join our Light Turbines Business unit in Houston, TX. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for but not limited to the purchasing requirement of the organization. Must possess strong math, analytical, organizational, communication and negotiation skills. Detail-oriented team player, able to work with a diverse number of people, such as executives, suppliers, vendors, and supply chain managers with the ability to work independently as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process ownership for defining and maintaining ReOrder Point (ROP) pipeline and Safety Stock (SS) sizes for assigned products and/or commodities. This also includes performance management (health metrics) to ensure proper balance of assigned products.
  • Drive purchasing efforts from demand signals including but not limited to purchase requisitions, ERP system (iFlight) re-order measures, and spot shortages.
  • Produce and owns key supplier performance scorecards and engagement with internal and external suppliers and customers.
  • Manage and improve EE-LIT existing supplier relationship while finding new suppliers who can meet EE-LIT needs more efficiently.
  • Institute innovative policies to save the company money and improve product quality and on time delivery.
  • Advise management of industry competitive situations, alternative supply sources, raw material costs, commodity price trends, and supply-demand status.
  • Participation and actions from supplier non-conformance reporting (NCR) meetings. Cooperate with all required audit activities.
  • Utilize ERP system for parts usage, PO interface, intranet report generation etc.
  • Resolves purchasing, delivery, and invoice discrepancies and obtaining credits and issue refunds as necessary.
  • Maintains accuracy in the ERP system by setting up parts master parts and supplier information, updating current and accurate pricing and lead times.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Adjusts to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change while under pressure, including working long hours due to spikes in demand.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • ERP Experience
  • Knowledge of materials management, purchasing methods, expediting procedures, and supply chain integration.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
  • Understanding of Lean-Six Sigma is a plus
  • Knowledge of Gas Turbomachinery, equipment is a plus.

Experience

  • 5+ Years experience in Procurement and/or purchasing. Experience in the O&G and Power Generation Industry preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field

  • Standard Office Environment
