In this role you will undertake tax and social security planning in relation to international assignments. By doing so, you will work in collaboration with the Group Tax department, Group HR and Centralised Field Services to ensure to ensure compliance obligations and applicable taxes for overseas assignments are met. In addition you will have a working knowledge of immigration obligations including visa and work permit requirements.
You will ensure the business is compliant with its requirements for engaging short term resources and mobilising its employees on a worldwide basis. You will prepare and issue tax memos to the business, and where applicable co-ordinate with the Group Tax department, explaining the tax position related to the mobilisation of personnel. You will be responsible for managing the Group’s third party providers to support the tax return fillings and payroll obligations and where applicable you will manage queries from tax authorities.
You will work with the Group Tax department to ensure tax issues are managed for the business, planning and ensuring compliance in overseas jurisdictions for the Field Service Function and with the Group’s transfer pricing policy. You will assist and gather information for overseas tax enquiries, if required. You will also assist in gathering tax advice for overseas tenders, co-ordinating with the tax department to ensure all tax implications are covered.

This position could be based from UK, Italy or Poland, within commutable distance to one of our facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working with the Group Tax department and advisers to; - Ensure compliance with the Group’s reporting obligations - Ensure appropriate tax advice is included in overseas tenders, including input into cost models
  • Working with the business finance team, operations and Group Legal to ensure all appropriate documentation is in place
  • Responding to ad hoc business queries in a timely manner
  • Assisting with any overseas tax enquiries
  • Managing third party tax advisors
  • Assist with IR35 determinations

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Conversant with software programmes, including word and excel
  • Strong communication and problem solving abilities and able to display confidence and positive attitude.

Experience

  • Proven practical experience working with personnel across multiple jurisdictions from a tax and HR perspective.

Education Requirements

  • A relevant degree or similar relevant working experience together with a tax qualification
