  • Perform complex vibration analyses
  • Review rotor dynamics design of existing or modified rotating equipment
  • Perform critical speed analyses of rotors
  • Perform modal analysis of impellers
  • Troubleshoot bearing performance issues and make recommendations for corrective actions
  • Act as a technical advisor to multiple Engineering teams and leadership teams in EH and WH when rotordynamic design or behavior falls outside of limitations
  • Provide support to Engineering teams with troubleshooting, analysis and diagnosis of vibration behavior of rotating equipment
  • Coordinate Root Cause Analysis for vibration-related issues
  • Support Engineering teams in rotor dynamic analysis of rotating equipment design
  • Support Customer order execution in performing or reviewing project-related detailed analysis as needed
  • Design and specify detailed vibration tests for rotating equipment to diagnose performance issues
  • Ensure all product design and repair standards are up to date with the latest technology and design practices, related to all rotating equipment including Gas turbines, Steam turbines, Compressors and Generators
  • Deliver in-house vibration training
  • Mentoring and transferring knowledge to Rotating Equipment Engineers across the global Engineering teams in order to sustain skills, expertise and methodologies
  • Work with outside consultant companies to validate capabilities and ensure the work performed meets agreed standards and specifications

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • The position requires thorough understanding of all aspects of rotor dynamics, machinery diagnostics, health assessment of rotating equipment and to pro-actively identify component, design, or operational issues with recommended corrective actions. Utilisation of state-of-the-art rotor dynamic prediction programs to include rotor design assessment, vibration analysis, bearing characteristic analysis and condition monitoring technologies are critical to the success of this role.
