The HSSE Manager has direct management and oversight of the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental plans, policies, procedures, and compliance programs for the O&M operations in the Altamira 3 and 4 Power Plant.
Job Responsibilities
- HSSE Support for the Mexico O&M-MIP Altamira III and IV Power Plant
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety laws and regulations, project management, procedure development, computer and communication skills.
- Ability to deal with complex safety situations is required.
- Candidate must be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Preferred skills in customer-focused Service Excellence such as data-driven, continuous improvement, process improvement, lean 6 sigma, root cause analysis, and change management.
- Ability to deal with complex safety situations is required.
- Candidate must be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- Have good interpersonal and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Have demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
- Have the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Have established project management skills
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience supporting in HSSE at least one power plant is required for this position.
- Experience in environmental and safety government permit applications and management is a plus
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Safety, Environmental or a related field.
- Formal Certifications (Diplomados with DC3s) on Mexican Health Safety Security and Environmental regulations, preferably related the power industry.

Physical Requirements
- Position requires periods of intense physical exertion, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and move material up to 40 pounds.
