The Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager shall lead the lean transformation and will drive the development of resources, structure, and programs to build the foundation of a continuous improvement culture through the application of EthosEnergy’s Lean Guide and processes. This trusted leader and partner will solve important business and customer problems through the lens of continuous improvement and applying the Lean principles and methodologies. The role shall lead initiatives and programs driving cycle reduction, customer satisfaction, on time delivery, cost reduction projects and productivity. The role will also provide lean training for the organization.
This position is remote based however preferred locations are West Coast or Houston, TX.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach facilities and teams on lean manufacturing principles, tools and concepts including 3P (Process, Production, Process), Kanban, Kaizen, value stream mapping, visual management, and on escalation process, pull systems, mistake proofing, Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and 6S
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus.
  • Establishing and measuring business metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to accurately measure improvement activities.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and projects with the management teams and quality leadership.
  • Maintaining the funnel of business improvement projects.
  • Training and mentoring the facility and other teams on Lean Principles and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Leading key performance improvement projects in the facilities.
  • Assisting facilities in local performance improvement projects.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Certified Lean Manager preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought processes to develop, recommend and implement strategies and programs that address company objectives
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy and functions including the corporate offices
  • Excellent leadership skills particularly selling, influencing, coaching and teaching capabilities
  • Ability to assign priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing schematics and blueprints
  • Able to mentor and facilitate lean culture change in an environment with varying levels of acceptance
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict effectively, manage change and problem solve
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principle, intent and execution of ISO 9001.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to communicate complex analyses and concepts to all levels of the business team.
  • Demonstrated report-writing skills and ability to provide executive presentations…must have an executive presence.
  • Solid knowledge in the use of Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).

Experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience leading Lean Transformations, educating others on Lean principles and deployment planning
  • Hands on experience using modern Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPS, Kanban, A3, 6S Six Sigma etc.)
  • Industrial experience in heavy industry, such as Energy or Oil & Gas, versus traditional process chemical or refinery industries.
  • 3-5 years of experience in practicing LEAN methodologies (i.e. PDCA, Kaizen, 6S, Process Mapping, A3 problem solving, Kanban, preferably with service or job shop experience)
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with minimum of two projects completed using DMAIC methodology.
  • Preferred Manufacturing, product and repair shop experience.
  • Familiarity with various ERP systems for data analytics and validation of the systematic performance improvements.
  • Prior experience in auditing and basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes and techniques.
  • Prior experience with successful Change Management tools used to impact the culture of the organization.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Quality or equivalent education and experience as determined by management

Physical Requirements

  • Both shop floor and office work environment.
  • Wear designated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) while on the shop floor or other locations that require PPE.
  • Potential exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases generated by production and repair equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, suppliers, customers, and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices. #LI-Remote
