Join EthosEnergy as an Environmental Manager for The Apex Power Project, a cutting-edge 531 MW natural gas-fired facility in Clark County, Nevada. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the implementation and ongoing support of environmental and NERC compliance programs, ensuring our operations meet the highest standards. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you’ll make a real impact on sustainability and regulatory excellence. We’re seeking candidates with 3–5 years of environmental compliance experience, ideally in power plant or industrial settings.
Job Responsibilities
- Includes the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Champion site-specific environmental programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee all environmental filings, inspections, reports, and permits (Title V, Potable Water, SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous and universal wastes).
- Manage the PSM program and State of NV CAPP, including all related documentation and inspections.
- Act as the go-to environmental expert for plant staff on permits, waste regulations, risk management, and compliance.
- Maintain and update permits and support modifications as needed.
- Lead and track environmental training for the team.
- Drive key programs in air quality, hazardous waste, substance storage, zero liquid discharge, and pollution prevention.
- Roll out corporate environmental initiatives at the site.
- Collaborate with safety professionals to develop and implement annual HSE plans and strategies for continuous improvement.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Confidently navigate complex safety, environmental, and regulatory challenges.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to work independently.
- Proficient with key software tools (Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems, EPA, Maximo, NERC, and local reporting platforms).
- Committed to upholding EthosEnergy’s environmental policies and standards.
Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on environmental compliance experience
- Background in power plant or industrial facility preferred
- Solid understanding of federal and state environmental and safety regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and coordinate resources
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems, EPA, and local reporting software
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience/professional training is required as well as a demonstrated track record in developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in an industrial setting.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires periods of intense physical exertion, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and move material up to 40 pounds.
- Climb a 12-ft ladder to perform functions as needed.
