We are recruiting a Power Plant Manager for the Sacramento Valley Region of California. This position will support Procter and Gamble PP which is a 171-megawatt natural gas-fired, combined cycle facility. The Plant Manager function is key to providing management, direction and staff oversight to ensure safe, reliable, and economic operation of the facility. This position reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager for EthosEnergy and will act as a main point of contact for the facility owner representative. A key requirement is ability to act as a steward of compliancy to ensure adherence to environmental, safety and health agreements, and all other company or client sponsored guidelines.

Qualified applicants must have excellent management capabilities and strong knowledge of the startup and daily operations of a combined cycle power plant. Management experience is required as the role will supervise, train, and mentor a staff of up to (25). Success in this position requires optimization of plant performance through people management, operational excellence and strong budgetary preparation. Approved Yearly Salary is $190,000 - $215,000, plus bonus potential as commensurate with experience and education.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee HSE, NERC, and other regulatory reports and testing activities
  • Implement programs and activities that promote team productivity and morale
  • Provide employee coaching, training, and development opportunities
  • Prepare the annual budget and facility operating plan
  • Responsible for purchasing, inventory, cost control and cost management
  • Maintain/Disseminate monthly operational activity reports including budget variance reports
  • Regular communication with EthosEnergy management, facility owner, vendors, and outside agencies
  • Provide capital improvement recommendations and cost benefit analysis to facility owner on upgrades to improve plant reliability, performance and safety
  • Oversee planning of maintenance and outage activities

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement
  • Strong understanding of combined cycle power plant operations, including O&M functions
  • Familiarity with water treatment and other environmental programs and statutory regulations; some comprehension of chemistry is strongly preferred
  • Understand basic accounting to manage budgets, bid proposals and contract evaluations
  • Ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations
  • Comprehension of mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, and technical manuals
  • Solve practical problems and interpret data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations
  • Ability to manage and motivate up to 25 subordinates
  • Competent computer skills with experience in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS project

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 year's relevant combined cycle plant experience, with a significant proportion of this in a management position
  • Familiarity with LM 6000 technology is strongly preferred

Education Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree strongly preferred, OR
  • Combination of education and relevant combined cycle plant management experience

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting, standing and walking may be required
  • Reaching, climbing, and stooping as needed
  • Lift up to 50 pounds on occasion #LI-HB1
