The purpose of the position is to create and develop new repair schemes and processes for the rotating equipment product line (including compressors, small steam turbines and pumps) in Abu Dhabi

Job Responsibilities

  • Create, develop and maintain rotating equipment overhaul procedures based on available technical data, re-engineering capabilities, rotating equipment operation, customer requirements and available resources.
  • Work closely with Compressor Centre of Excellence team to help establish the engineering processes and procedures to support the execution of rotating equipment product in the EE Abu Dhabi LLC facility.
  • Create product and process documents, including route cards, quality plans, inspection and test protocols.
  • Support identification, qualification and management of local vendors to enhance local capabilities.
  • Special tool and test apparatus development, procurement and /or construction.
  • Re-engineering of required replacement details and/or parts consumed in the developed repair / overhaul process.
  • Continual improvement of products and processes to optimise on Safety, Quality, Cost & Service Excellence.
  • Lead the management of feasibility studies and RCA’s on rotating equipment.
  • Compilation of inspection reports and final repair reports.
  • Development of standard cost models for fixed scopes of work for the tendering process
  • Training of shop floor personnel to develop process improvements.
  • Maintain good communications with internal/external customers.
  • Work in conjunction with Quality Manager, Engineering Manager and Project Managers to develop and manage effective lean solutions.
  • Other duties as required by the Facility Director.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Sound mechanical engineering experience
  • Competent in application of analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and drive process change.
  • Ability to foster working relationships with people at all levels within the organisation.
  • HSE experience preferable but not essential, as training can be provided.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office software and CAD. CAD experience with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Sound mechanical engineering experience with Centrifugal Compressors and Steam Turbines
  • Experience in working in and leading a workshop environment
  • Ability to support On Site Services both hands on and in a supervisory capacity
  • Competent in application of analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and drive process change
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a mechanical engineering discipline, preferably in a compressor and / or steam turbine repair workshop environment.

Education Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a mechanical engineering discipline, preferably in a compressor and / or steam turbine repair workshop environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Light physical effort or significant manual dexterity.
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment.
  • Sitting for prolonged period of time.
