We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to be based in Houston, TX. This position provides field service solutions to our clients, ensuring timely response and reliability in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of gas turbine generator, compressor and mechanical drive packages and supporting ancillaries. Extensive travel is a significant part of this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide field service solutions to our clients, ensuring timely response and reliability in the maintenances, repair, troubleshooting, and overhaul of gas turbine, generator, compressor, and mechanical drive packages and supporting ancillaries. Provides dedicated field service support for the following services offered by the company:
  • Performs package mechanical and electrical systems planned and corrective maintenance.
  • Problem shooting and rectification.
  • Control system troubleshoot (PLC).
  • Instrumentation and control systems inspection and maintenance.
  • Installation and commissioning. Alignment.
  • Borescope inspections.
  • Generates and submits timely and maintenance field service reports.
  • Performs onsite emissions testing.
  • Conducts DLN tuning.
  • Conducts vibration surveys and analysis.
  • Performs field repairs of driven equipment, pumps, compressors, and generators.
  • Gas Turbine Engine removal and installation.
  • On-site customer training.
  • Condition monitoring.
  • Control system retrofit and upgrade.
  • Integrity reviews.
  • Performs limited operations of gas turbine equipment.

Experience

  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years' in maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and overhaul of gas turbine, generator, compressor, and mechanical drive packages and supporting ancillaries, including three (3) years' experience with Solar Gas Turbines PLC control systems (Allen Bradley PLC 5, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Mark VI, Mark VIE, MIcronet Plus, Rx7i, Rx31), Solar turbotronics , HMI, Factory Talk View Studio HMI, GE Wonderware HMI, GE Complicity, Proficy Ifix HMI. Must have three (3) years' experience with Solonox tuning experience on Solar Engines, OLE mapping experience on GE aeroderivative engines. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Five (5) years' in maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and overhaul of gas turbine, generator, compressor, and mechanical drive packages and supporting ancillaries, including five (5) years' experience with Solar Gas Turbines PLC control systems (Allen Bradley PLC 5, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Mark VI, Mark VIE, MIcronet Plus, Rx7i, Rx31), Solar turbotronics , HMI, Factory Talk View Studio HMI, GE Wonderware HMI, GE Complicity, Proficy Ifix HMI. Must have five (5) years' experience with Solonox tuning experience on Solar Engines, OLE mapping experience on GE aeroderivative engines.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or related field.

Physical Requirements

  • 30% Domestic and 20% International travel required.
