Position: Gas Turbine Controls Specialist – Resident Engineer
Reports to: Site Service Manager
Positions available: 1
Location: Offshore D-island, Atyrau, Kazakhstan
Start date: March 2023
Work type: Rotational, 4 weeks on 4 weeks off
Work schedule: 7 am – 7 pm (including 1 hour lunch) from Mon-Sun
Job Responsibilities
- Provide on-site control support in the execution of the contract
- Take primary responsibility for the management of all controls related covered equipment, including the interface between the control system software and hardware environment
- Act as technical advisor on all instrumentation and control aspects of covered units
- Identify any logic modification or changes subjected to Client plant management of change procedures
- Assist Client with regular reviews of maintenance activities associated with the control aspects of the covered units
- Review and implement controls systems related OEM issued technical bulletin
- Respond to technical queries regarding operations and routine maintenance and liaise with Client’s Integrated Control & Safeguarding System, support services engineer for issues related with interfaces between package control system.
- Maintain a documented history of all control system changes including set point changes or modifications for the covered units
- Perform diagnosis and resolve maintenance or operational problems on covered units with support of Client’s operation and maintenance staff and analyze unit trips and make recommendations to prevent similar occurrences
- Provide on-the-job training of Client’s operation & maintenance staff
- Prepare the maintenance planning activities for planned maintenance & inspection
- Maintain well-documented maintenance history for covered units, and to be included in CMMS
- Ensure all parts required for each planned maintenance & inspection are on-site prior to each planned maintenance & inspection.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Gas Turbine Controls system troubleshooting, maintenance, startup, installation and retrofit experience and training
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience working on Gas Turbines (RB211) and Generators (ABB), particularly on instruments and control systems (e.g. FT110).

- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience working on Gas Turbines (RB211) and Generators (ABB), particularly on instruments and control systems (e.g. FT110).
- 10 years + total experience
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Physical Requirements
- Fit to work Offshore.
