Job Responsibilities

  • Understands production processes used across sites. Understanding of products across business units
  • Understanding of standard EEAC engineering processes. Interacts with supplier and customer to complete engineering tasks
  • Able to identify and define technical problems and propose solutions within the business unit
  • Identifies issues with existing processes and proposes new methodologies
  • Assists and supports the development of new methods and processes within own business unit
  • Schedule tasks for projects and agree timing. Performs necessary work to accomplish specific tasks within overall schedule
  • Accountable for meeting schedule completion dates and tasks budget or for providing timely feedback when dates and cost targets cannot be met
  • Detailed knowledge of EEAC and understanding of different business units. Knowledge with local site goals
  • Successfully completes engineering projects and identifies improvement opportunities for future projects for that business unit
  • Objectives are defined and approach is reviewed. Work is monitored
  • Actively participates as a member of the team for site projects
  • Can influence peers on technical issues
  • Gathering of information and making determinations of approaches and solutions
  • Designs are a smaller portion of an overall project (therefore limited in complexity)
  • Works closely with other project team members (assembly, design, test, and field service) to develop designs.
  • Cross training with other groups requires a broader understanding of the project scope. This includes working with test or field service
  • Increased technical responsibility of project subtasks or small projects
  • Assigned a business mentor/coach to develop business acumen
  • Writes technical reports
  • Good oral and written technical communications
  • Presents to a project team, customer and management
  • Good oral and written technical communications
  • Interacts with project team members and peers to anticipate and resolve day to day issues
  • Customer activities are performed in concert with a higher level engineer but participate when their scope of the project is in focus

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Computer software (MS Office/ internet / website navigation)
  • Repair station and workshop equipment and processes
  • Familiarity with TIG welding, plasma spraying, conventional/vacuum heat-treating, brazing, machining, electrical harness repairs and heavy industrial repairs on gas turbine engines
  • Basic understanding of super alloy metallurgy
  • Working knowledge of overhaul manuals
  • Working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and NDE processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of jet engine fundamentals and the ability to comprehend turbine engine component blueprints
  • Knowledge of computer software (MS Office/Solidworks/CAD Systems/ internet websites navigation)
  • Skilled in dealing with customers and OEMs

Experience

  • Chartered Engineer
  • Professional Engineer

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or
  • Technical Degree (US) or
  • QBE (Qualified by Experience)

Physical Requirements

  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to look at computer monitor for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to type for long periods of time
  • FAA & DOT regulated work environment. Must be able to pass required background and drug test. #LI-HB1
