We are looking for a Global Trade and Integrity Compliance Director to implement and maintain EthosEnergy’s global compliance and ethics strategy. This position manages a global team to deliver enterprise-wide adherence with compliance and ethics standards. Main duties would include identifying and implementing effective global solutions using a risk-based approach; collaborating across functions to assist with the development and delivery of the Group’s ESG strategy; working with the commercial and operations functions of the business with tactical compliance queries and issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures compliant with import, export and supply chain security regulations, data privacy, business ethics and third-party risk management.
- Implement and maintain policies which deliver on EthosEnergy’s strategic ESG responsibilities.
- Manage and drive completion of annual licensing requirements and compliance-related training and certifications at all sites including ITAR registration, C-TPAT certification, etc.
- Develop and deploy training and operational oversight in key compliance areas including:
- Business Ethics,
- Third party intermediary engagement and management,
- Trade Compliance execution,
- Incoterms optimisation.
- Determine export classification (ECCN), jurisdiction, licensing end use and licensing requirements (if applicable) across multiple jurisdictions and regulations including Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), U.S. Customs Regulations (CBP) and EU Dual Use Regulations.
- Determine the HTS classification of products across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist the East Hemisphere and West Hemisphere Trade Compliance Managers with daily tactical inquiries regarding HTS and Schedule B classification, ECCN classifications, documentation requirements, incoterm requirements, customs clearance resolution, other import and export regulations to ensure timely clearance.
- Identify, recommend, and implement import / export compliance and operational synergies to reduce cost and regulatory risk.
- Develop and implement risk management strategy for third-party commercial and processing intermediaries, including due diligence risk reviews to deliver on the Group’s objective to reduce reliance on third-party agents.
- Implement and maintain policies which deliver on EthosEnergy’s strategic ESG responsibilities.
- Develop and present key performance metric reports.
- Distil and present information to senior leaders to provide impact, implications, recommendations, and solutions.
- Plan and conduct reviews, assessments, and investigations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements to support compliant operations. (Audits).
- Support and monitor sanctions compliance via the Watchlist Countries Policy to ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable economic and trade sanctions.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Job related technical compliance knowledge necessary to complete the job. Licensed Customs Broker (preferred).
- Confidence to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner.
Experience
- Demonstrated relevant experience
Education Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study.
- Six Sigma/Green Belt or LEAN certified (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Hybrid or Remote working in the UK or in Italy, Germany, Poland or The Netherlands will be considered.
