As a Quality Engineer you will report to the Product Quality HoD, and work to ensure a product or service provides a suitable level of quality. Following applicable drawings, specifications and contractual requirements to meet the Customer expectation. In the aim of the above, working closely with other Functions, the Quality Engineers are involved in a variety of activities on a day to day basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage validation programs for new products, defining the requirements to be fulfilled and monitoring the development of activities, up to final release to production;
- Verify product documentation, including instructions, reports and certificates;
- Manage non-conformities by initiating the appropriate workflows and by using the required tools for root cause determination; suggests corrective actions and verify their implementation; Trace non-conformance costs and prepare relevant reports for Management;
- Monitor production processes’ performance, by using the appropriate statistical tools; trace Workshop and Suppliers’ performances with respect to assigned KPIs;
- Review, approve and develop (as needed) product verification plans and respective test methods;
- Coordinate with the development of essential design control deliverables including, but not limited to product performance analysis on similar products, essential requirements checklist, design verification, design validation, design reviews, phase reviews, and product release authorization for distribution of product;
- Review design inputs (specifications) and design outputs (reports, prints, etc.) to assure that appropriate design requirements are specified and to evaluate/confirm quality requirements prior to successful design transfer;
- Deal with Suppliers in the day-by-day job, to ensure products are delivered in line with the required quality level and non-conformities, if any, are closed on time;
- Prepare comprehensive quality documentation for delivered goods, including technical reports and certificates;
- Define the required inspection methods, testing, procedures in conjunction with Engineering and Production Engineering;
- Perform source inspection/production audits towards Workshop and/or Suppliers’ facilities; - Working with the Supply Chain, qualify new Suppliers;
- Participate to team working for continuous improvement.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Reading of technical drawings and specifications;
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes related to Gas Turbine industry, statistical techniques/tools, industry standards, RCA techniques;
- Ability to think logically and methodically;
- Problem-solving, precision, attention to details, organizational and communications skills;
- Team working;
- Good knowledge of MS Office tools (MS Excel is mandatory);
- Fluent knowledge of English, both writing and speaking is mandatory, a second language is considered a plus;
- Willingness to travel for short periods, also abroad.
Experience
- Recent Graduate
Education Requirements
- Bachelor/MS Degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Energy&Nuclear, Chemical, Materials)
- PET English Certificate (Council of Europe Level B1) as minimum requirement
